Before we start the design we always do a research on the topic of the website and the market niche the website fits in, so we need as much input as the client can give Please prepare yourself to answer following questions:
- What is your website/company name, what is your tagline (if you have one)?
- Do you have a logo to be included in website design?
- What is your intended audience, what is your target market?
- List your competitor sites if possible.
- What is your desired color scheme?
- Do you already have a website (if so, what is the URL)
- What will be the content of your website? Can you list navigation links?
- What type of look do you want to achieve? List some addresses of sites that you like.
Payment:
Depending on your project you will need to pay 30-60% of the price quote. If partial payment is made upfront, the final payment will be due upon project completion before complete control is handed over from designer to client.
- First: GOALS
The first priority is to establish the goals of the project. This is where we ask such questions as:
Who are your users? What is your market? What are your competitors doing? What do you want to better? audience, competition, potential hang-ups, content, site map, feature list, and required technologies.
This information creates a framework of reference for the remainder of your project's development. Throughout each remaining stage we reference previous, current and future work against our findings here. This provides confidence throughout the development process for everyone involved.
- Second: STRUCTURE
The next step is to outline the site's content structure and navigation requirements. This may include both public and administrative-only components. Is this website going to include an online marketplace? Will it need to updated regularly, or will it remain somewhat static, once complete?
The result of this step is a bare-bones, structural view of how your information will sit on each "unique" page.
what are your timelines? What resources do we have? What is your content? Are some of common questions in this Step.
- Third: DESIGN
The fun part. Your structured content is polished for the user with typography, images, illustrations, icons & color schemes. This treatment is applied to the main landing page, and each "unique" sub-page to give you a concept of look and feel.
Sample design preview is created for the client's review. Several options may be presented, based on the client's input and/or previous branding materials.
- Fourth: REVISE
Does the design meet your goals? How can we make it better? Is every pixel perfect?
It is very important that, after the first mock-up, you list every change that you wish to be made for your final mock-up so that we may complete the design to your satisfaction.
- Fifth: DEVELOP
Content, design and functionality have been approved; time to code! User interfaces are produced with standard's based, CSS & XHTML. Display is checked in all major browsers and platforms to ensure pixel perfect rendering. Features and functionality are produced using any # of languages such as: PHP, ASP, Ruby and/or Rails. Hosting environments are created and a preliminary but functioning version of your site is deployed.
Once the site template is finalized, the client is requested to submit content, itemized by page. This may include both pictures and text. The content is then passed on to our development team to create the actual web-pages. Each business or individual's website has different functional requirements. Those components selected during the planning process are now added by our development team.
- Sixth: FINAL TEST
Testing and Quality Assessment goes on throughout the entire process to varying degrees. Prior to launch, we make great attempts to break your site by testing every link, feature, and environment contained within. We encourage you to do so by sharing the site with your peers and friends. In the end we make sure all is well as varying stages of deployment are attained. Once all the pages have been designed and built the site is launched publicly.
- Seventh: SUPPORT
Once your design is completely installed and everything is to your satisfaction you assume all responsibility of your site. Web sites are living breathing creatures. You must water them by adding fresh content and features.
If after completion you feel you need major revisions or additions to your project you will be put on our schedule as a new work order, and will have to wait in line behind any clients she may be already working with and will be billed accordingly.
However, you can always email your designer if you have questions or need help (again, within reason). We also offer website maintenance if you need continual help with your website. Please contact us for more information.
